The Broadway is a case study in Place-Based Investment. The results of Prestwick’s place plan engagement report showed that ‘facilities and amenities’ and ‘identity and belonging’ were the two highest priorities. The Broadway project is aligned to both. The Visitor Experience is a direct answer to the need identified around local tourism opportunities ignored, celebration of local history and heritage, drop in space to accommodate small groups, and, most importantly, empty premises.

The funding will be used to contribute to purchasing of a building. Since 2018 we have leased a shop owned by SAC where we store our event equipment which is integral to allowing us to put on our events. We also store equipment for other community groups such as Carrick resilience team, Girvan Christmas Street Party, Girvan Horticultural Society and we also store the towns Christmas lights. We have had request from other groups for storage, but we are current at full capacity. SAC which to turn
