Replacement of all glazing in the Dundonald Castle Visitor Centre/Community Hub to improve energy efficiency, sustainability and comfort for our community and visitors.

Tarbolton lost its 1967 community centre when a new campus opened in 2015, leaving minimal space and many groups disbanded. With a growing, ageing population, loneliness is rising; 2 in 3 residents want a new community-run facility.

This project will be delivered to residents of Maybole and surrounding villages. We have a lot of members from surrounding villages who no longer have a bowling club to join in their village. The premises is used on a regular basis by bowlers and non-bowlers alike. We also provide free coaching for young people every Wednesday which has proved very popular. : I believe that this project links into Priority 6 of the Maybole Action Plan. Age Concern Girvan (SCIO), is a local charity providing vital services to older people in Girvan. Our aim is to provide affordable, nutritious meals alongside welcoming social opportunities for people aged 55+ as well as anyone who may be isolated, vulnerable, or living on low incomes. Known locally as Duff Street Kitchen, we operate on Mondays and Fridays with the support of dedicated volunteers and people supported through Girvan Opportunities, providing a low-cost lunch in

The funding will be used to contribute to purchasing of a building. Since 2018 we have leased a shop owned by SAC where we store our event equipment which is integral to allowing us to put on our events. We also store equipment for other community groups such as Carrick resilience team, Girvan Christmas Street Party, Girvan Horticultural Society and we also store the towns Christmas lights. The project will benefit local residents, groups, and businesses by upgrading the Carrick Centre’s digital and AV facilities, enabling hybrid events, reducing rural isolation, boosting inclusion and wellbeing.

The Broadway is a case study in Place-Based Investment. The results of Prestwick’s place plan engagement report showed that ‘facilities and amenities’ and ‘identity and belonging’ were the two highest priorities. The Broadway project is aligned to both. The Visitor Experience is a direct answer to the need identified around local tourism opportunities ignored, celebration of local history and heritage, drop in space to accommodate small groups, and, most importantly, empty premises.

Finishing the Transformation of Foresters Hall

This project would meet priority 1 of South Ayrshire Council's funding priorities where there would be an investment in spaces and places. In our case, this would be to improve provision of activities within spaces by providing more entertainment.
