Investment project code: 212

Estimated Cost

£3,230

In relation to the identified priorities in the Guidance & Essential criteria what will your idea achieve and who will benefit from your project?

This project will deliver funded archery sessions for young carers, care-experienced young people, and low-income families, removing financial barriers to participation. It will improve wellbeing, confidence, and skills, while creating clear pathways into sustained involvement through beginner courses and ongoing club support.

Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (i.e., purchase equipment/resources)

The funding will be used to deliver a programme of fully funded archery sessions and structured Beginner Courses targeted at young carers, care-experienced young people, families experiencing financial hardship and any other agreed targated groups.

A significant portion of the funding will be invested in beginner equipment, including bows, limbs, arrows, and essential accessories, to establish a sustainable equipment library. This will allow participants to continue in the sport without the immediate cost of purchasing their own equipment, supporting progression and retention.

Funding will also contribute to coaching delivery, ensuring qualified coaches are available to provide safe, high-quality, and inclusive sessions. Facility hire costs for indoor and outdoor venues, including Riverside Sports Arena and Pebble Park, will be supported where required.

Additional costs will include session resources, maintenance and replacement of equipment, and delivery expenses associated with running targeted outreach sessions in partnership with Active Schools and community organisations.

Overall, the funding will create both immediate participation opportunities and a lasting infrastructure that supports continued engagement in archery beyond the life of the project.
